Daniel can go backwards!!!

Look at Daniel's new trick!

Daniel LOVES chocolate malts

Well, Jen stayed home with Daniel today because he still has a runny diaper (and day care took the day off). I was planning on working from home, but then I got locked out of my the remote desktop appplication after 10am, so I took a vacation day instead. We made malts...and Daniel loves them. Here are some pics.

We also got a xylophone to play when Daniel wakes up from nap time.

Devil's Lake State Park

This weekend we went camping with the Quist Family in Baraboo. We arrived at the campground Fri evening around 5:30pm. Jen and Ryan had the place all ready for us. We had fajitas that night and some beverages around the campfire. Saturday we hiked it up this...yeah...

We're almost there! Keep going.

Here we are at the top. Us kids are posing with a beatuiful view.

We made it!!!

The lake is still high. The path around the mountain was still flooded, so we had to take off our shoes to walk back to the campground.Daniel and Grammy taking a walk to the lake.
Daniel contemplating if he should go in the water...and the answer is NO WAY!

Well...after we changed Daniel out of his swim trunks, he decided he wanted to go for a swim. We went in after a feather, so he didn't even know that he was going into the water...

What a busy life!

Well, on Wed we celebrated our 3yr anniversary. We got sushi take out and ate it by candlelight after Daniel went to bed. Then we sat on the deck and sipped wine. We tried a new sushi joint right in Blaine. The place was very nice and the sushi was pretty good. What a great 3 years we've had. We're very blessed to have each other!
Daniel has learned lots of tricks. He knows how to crawl on daddy:
And, how to tackle him:

He even knows how to eat with no hands:

This past weekend we went to Mondovi for Uncle Tim's wedding shower. We all had a great time. The weather took a bad turn and we ended up moving indoors, but it was all good. Daniel liked the animals a little bit better this time. He adores Uncle John's dog Buck-especially when he gives kisses. We came back home around 2 on Sunday and completely finished the deck...we had 1 fascia board left. Then, we went to John and Amy's to swim!!! Daniel didn't like the water very much at all. But, the sun went down shortly after we got there. Tim and Liz came over too. We ordered some pizza and had a good time. Anyway-we have a busy week planned. Monday we're off to a friend's for dinner, Tues Nate plays ball, Wed is spa night for Jen, Thurs is ball for Jen and we leave for the weekend for camping on Fri. yikes.

Another great weekend!

This weekend was wonderful. Here's Daniel after his bath...
Then on Saturday, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Quist's for Ross and Bri's wedding shower. They are so great together. Here's Lydia and Daniel NOT sharing the croquet. They also chased each other around over a hat too.
Then back home to finish the deck! Isn't it pretty? Jen stained the frame while Nate helped the neighbor with some wiring. Then, Nate finished screwing the fascia on. We returned all of our extra pieces to the Home Depot and cleaned everything up! We even had our first meal cooked on the deck last night...steaks! Even though it was windy, it was very peaceful up there. Then, after Daniel went to sleep, we took care of the moles in the yard. Poor buggers didn't know what was coming.

Daniel's 15 month check-up

We had Daniel's 15 month check-up this morning and he's doing great. The Dr. said he's right on track. He should 'know' about 5 words-and he sure does. (dada, mama :), nelly, belly, uh-oh, no, nose and mouth consistently) Then he's said shoe, cracker, chicken, boat, bird and 'peek' for peek a boo a couple of times. He's really close to grandpa and grandma-he's getting pa-pa out. It'll happen soon! Here are his stats: 21lbs 15oz - 15%; 31 1/2 inches - 61%; and 19 in head-80%. So, we're a tall skinny guy. He seems so short, but he's really not! But, we still have a big noggin and big feet :)

Happy 4th of July!

Extended weekend recap...Nate and I took the 3rd off to do the railings of our deck. We made great progress-only the two coming down the stairs left. Daniel sure helped a lot when we picked him up from daycare. Then off to Chetek for the 4th. It was beautiful weather all weekend long. We didn't catch very many fish...only one to be exact. But, we had a great time hanging out with everyone. We went tubing in the nice green lake. Daniel loved the fireworks. We watch them on the water, so he had his lifejacket on. He laid his head back and rested on daddy the whole time. And, Daniel tried out his pool. We went for some boatrides too.

Nate's Trip to Canada

Here are some pics of Nate's Canada fishing trip with Jen's Dad, Jen's cousin Don and his dad Bob. 25.5" Walleye

17" smally. We caught about 60 of these one afternoon!!!

another 25" walleye

A 27.5" walleye. My biggest ever.

A northern who's tail was almost chomped off by a bigger fish

A 25 inch-er for Fran

This was a northern that grabbed a perch as Fran was reeling it in. We got them both in the boat.
