5 Months!

I can't believe Andie is 5 months old already! She's growing soo fast. Here are some great pictures of her in the last couple of days.

Watching Danny play with his trains...it's fun

Still watching the trains...

Mom-how much longer do we have to watch the trains?

Fun Stuff

Not much is new around here. Daniel is now a really big boy on the potty :) It's been a week of potty all the time! We're so proud of the little man-and very excited to not have to change messy, dirty pull-ups anymore. We enticed him with many different 'prizes' so we're not sure what eventually got him to go. But, he got ice cream, a big fire truck with great noises, and a new coloring book with a lot of markers.
One day when I was cooking dinner, Andie woke up from her nap while I was in the middle of cutting up onions. I asked Daniel if he could go talk to her while I finished up. Here's what I saw when I came upstairs...it's kinda dark, sorry.
Andie is finally starting to like her baths. Daniel LOVES to pour water on her while she's in there. Most times he keeps the cup on her belly, but sometimes he puts it on her head. :)
It was such great weather this weekend, we went outside one day and Daniel went sledding with Jack and Paige. Here's a video of them going down the hill. Daniel had a great time. He even carried his sled up the hill since that's what 'big kids' do! Oh, how fast they grow.

Writing Letters

There comes a point in life where you know you've made the right decisions. We've had that moment with Daniel. After our home daycare downsized on us last year, we moved Daniel to New Horizon's. We were nervous at first for the move, but he has adjusted well. It's been almost a year now and look what he did the other night. (In case you can't see very well, this paper is full of A's, Q's, U's, O's and H's-all written by him!!!) We are soo proud of our little guy that we can barely stand it. He's growing up so quickly and is so smart. And, we know that New Horizon has a big part in that. Now, if we can only get him to go #2 on the potty... :)

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's day. Nate started the day off with heart shaped pancakes for everyone. Then we made Valentine's for each other. For dinner we had Mahi Mahi and asparagus (for some reason there's a seafood tradition for Nate and I). But, the best part of all was the caramel filled chocolate cake with ice cream. The caramel oozed out of the middle when it was cut! To top it all off, Nate had flowers delivered to the door right during dessert. It was a great day!
Daniel licking the plate it was so good!
Earlier in the week, we made special valentine's treats. I melted chocolate for Daniel, and he decorated them with M&Ms. I'm surprised that he didn't eat more than he did!

Working Out

It's no secret that Nate works out...but now Daniel has been wanting to work out with him. It's actually nice that they have that bonding time. Here's Daniel on one of his workouts.

Snow Day

Last weekend, it was super nice out on Saturday so Jen and Daniel got some much needed outside play. We went sledding and played in the snow.
Snow Fight!
Mom threw a little too much snow...it went down his jacket. Poor baby.

Andie's 4 months!

Our little girl is getting soo big! I can't believe she's 4 months old already. She has a great attitude. We're on a really good schedule now. Well, she lays down at 8:30, wakes up to eat at 5ish. Then back to bed until 8. Then nap at 10am. After that, the schedule deviates until it's bedtime again :) But, we're working on it. At least Mommy has a good night pattern down now. I'm sure she's ready for the night feeding to be gone because she doesn't really drink much before she's sleeping again. I think she just misses me. Here are her stats from the 4 month check up.

Height: 25 in (79%)
Weight: 13lb 11oz (53%)
Head: 42.5cm (87%)

The Dr. said we could start cereal any time we wanted, so we thought we'd give it a try last week. She's a champ! She LOVES to eat. I remember having a struggle with Daniel, but Andie opens her mouth and everything right away. We've been doing rice at 5:30 and oatmeal in the mornings for a couple days now. She looks at you like, "Is that it?" when you're all done. We've forgotten how much they should eat when they first start out!!! Here's a video of her at her 3rd time eating the rice.

What does Andie do you ask? She can grab toys now-she loves to put them in her mouth. Most times, she makes sour faces as soon as it goes in her mouth. Then she lets go of the toy at the surprise, which lands on her face and she gets even more surprised. It's a fun game. She does theis weird cough/laugh thing. It's not really a laugh, but we think it's her version of one. You can hear it in the Valentine day video. She forgot how to take a bottle for a little while, but quickly recovered
