Good Times in Seattle

My extended weekend in Seattle was wonderful! I arrived Thursday evening, Heather picked me up and went to her place, then out to dinner. On Friday we went to Bainbridge Island on a ferry ride. We found a super cute store and got a lot of fun accessories.

Then on Saturday, we started the bachelorette celebration with the Freemont Solstice Parade. What nice outfits these bikers have on! (he he he-It's all paint)

Then the real fun starts...Here is us at the beginning of the party...it's a 50s theme.

Happy Father's Day!

Did we have an eventful weekend! We took off early on Fri afternoon to head to Milwaukee. Daniel decided not to take an afternoon nap-or to a nap at all for that matter. He didn't sleep at all the entire way down! We had some detours to take since some parts of I-94 were under water. We arrived to great hospitality of Jen and Ryan at 10pm on Fri night. We had a delicious breakfast, took some walks (and a Harley Ride) and were off to Miller Park for some tailgating fun. Go Twins! Here are some pics from Sat:

Then on Sunday, we went to meet Amy and Anthony and his family for brunch. We saw the place where they are having the receiption...it sure is a very nice place. Can't wait! Then off for ice cream and the journey home. We arrived back home in Blaine at 10pm (after picking up Nelly) phew... What a weekend!

What a weekend!!

Boy, did we have a great weekend. Fran and Donna came up for the day Saturday, along with Tim and Liz to help us work on our deck, and we made a ton of progress. The Decking is completed, and the stairs are 90% done. Now all we have left are all the railings.

Then on Sunday, Nate took the day off from working on the deck to go fishing on Mille Lacs Lake with a couple of buddies. They did pretty well .....

... even though they were completely swarmed with flies the whole time

Deck Progress

Yeah! We're building a deck :) Check out the great progress we've made so far.

Last Wed, we dug the footings well into the night:

On Sat, neighbors Tom and Doug came over to help pour the footings.


We took a break to watch a storm come in...Ryan R came over to hang out.


Then on Sunday, Tom, Doug and Bill helped with the ledger board.

Last night, we finished up the joists...Again, Tom and Doug came over to help.

The camera died before we could get the last shot. Jill and I had to go to the 'Depot' to get an extra joist. We shoved it in their van and had some hanging out! It was a great trip!

Daniel sure tried to help the whole weekend. He would sit on his 4-wheeler and rock until one of us would push him! He LOVES this thing.


He also is learning how to use a spoon.

Daniel's Antics

Ok-so you've all heard how Daniel likes to put things in things, right? Well, while I was making dinner the other night, he kept moving things around. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to capture what he did and show you all...

It started with the 'play phone' in the sewing machine, moved to putting the sippy cup in the garbage, then off to putting the old pill container (filled with rice) in Nelly's water dish, then on to the empty formula can in the oven, then to Nelly's collar in the pots drawer. What a busy little boy!

We had a great weekend! On Sat, we saw Grammy and Grandpa Quist and Auntie Katie. Then, we went to the cabin. It was pretty cold weather, but we still had fun. Grandpa Fedie found out how to make Daniel laugh!!

We went out on the boat and went fishing. The fish were biting, but they weren't really big. It was pretty fun. There were some bad storms that went through while we were there, so we had to go to the neighbors basement. Nothing bad happened though, just some hail. Our house in Blaine is located right between where the two tornadoes happened, 2 miles to the west and 5 miles to the east, but we only had a couple limbs down. Check out my sweet sunglasses.

Update

Our deck gets delivered today! YIPPEE! Who's free next weekend :)

We finally have all of our curtains made for the main level! Here are some pics. You can see that Daniel doesn't like the ones I put to cover the sidelights on the front door!







Last weekend, we spent almost all weekend outside. We planted some rose trees! Aren't they beautiful?


Daniel sure kept us busy running around and trying to eat all of the woodchips!
