Nate the Hunter

This weekend was opener for Wisconsin's deer hunting season. Nate had the lucky seat opening morning; he saw close to 25 deer by noon, and bagged this nice 6 point buck (which was 8, but 2 were broken off) and another doe by 10:00am. He, the guys, and Jen spent the day on Sunday walking through the woods trying to kick up more. We saw quite a few but we were only able to come up with one more. We'll be trying again next weekend.

Today was week 2 of Daniel's swimming lessons. Week 1 was a little intimidating, however this week he was much more confident and having much more fun. Take a look at how well he can swim!!!

Big Time Catch-Up

A lot has happened since our last post. Nate threw me a surprise Golden Birthday Party. Everyone was dressed up in costumes-it was great! I had NO idea.

That weekend we went to see baby Will again. He's still such a cutie :)
On Halloween night, we had a neighborhood party in the park by our house. Everyone dressed up and went over there for a good time. We stopped at a couple of neighbors house on the way home.
Halloween weekend we relaxed on Saturday and went to the farm on Sunday to chop up some wood. It was a beautiful weekend to be outside and working.

Then, this past Saturday, we had Jen's brother Tim's bachelor party and his fiance Liz's bachelorette party. It was a great time. Both parties were a lot of fun and everyone had a good time. We don't have any pictures from the men's party, but here's a couple from the girls.
Monday night, Jen watched Chase and Maddy while Sara played volleyball. The boys got along great. Daniel is only a couple of months older, so it was nice to see interaction of the in the same age. Daniel LOVES his puppy. And, we got a kitty too! Her name is Maui. She's a little small for her age, but Daniel LOVES her too and tries to take her everywhere.
Here's what's coming up: Daniel starts open swim on Wed, then a baby shower for Nate's sister Jen on Sat, then WI deer hunting!

NKOTB Concert

Yep-Jen went to the New Kids on the Block reunion Concert at the Xcel Center tonight!!! Greta, Sara and I joined thousands of 25-35 yr old women to scream for the boys! It was a great night. I think we spent the entire concert laughing at everyone. There were girls dressed up in complete 80s gear and everything.
Some of these videos are long, but they're great. The encore performance of Hanging Tough:

Here's the Cover Girl Rendition:

And, last but not least, Step by Step:

More Catch Up

Nelly turned 5 on the 15th! I can't believe we've had her that long already. We got her a big package of bones and some new treats for her special day.

Last week Daniel and I raked the leaves. He's such a good helper. He's also becoming quite the climber. We're now clearing shelves and tables since he will push his lion or 4-wheeler to where-ever he wants to get to.Daniel's following in mommy's footsteps and LOVING chocolate :) (He's just sucking on the top)He's getting very good at repeating words. He knows, "apple, pie, more, hungry, water, boat, car, no no nelly :), park, play, toy, eye, nose, mouth, ear, head, and many more." He loves to make the 'roar' noise, so almost every animal makes that sound-including giraffes and monkeys :)

Here's Daniel making an airplane sound with his spoon...

And, here he is blowing bubbles in the bathtub.

And, here he is dancing some more. He's getting quite good!

Last weekend, we had Nate's sister Jen's baby shower (and Renee's too). Here's Daniel playing nice with Lydia. They both wanted this toy...but only when the other went to play with it! They actually played really well together. While Daniel and I were at the shower, Nate winterized the boat, raked, mowed, and all that good stuff! Phew. Nice to have that done. Then on Sunday, we went to help Jen's brother Tim chew up some brush in his back yard. Jen, Daniel and Liz went shopping for her bachelorette party dress... and we found a GREAT one! It's going to be a great time!

Darren Brunner Wedding

This past weekend we went to Jen's cousin Darren's wedding in WI. It was beautiful weather for the outdoor ceremony. The whole thing was just georgous. The ceremony was at Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls. We went a little early and met mom and dad Fedie for a picnic in the park. Then, we went and looked at the animals. We saw them feed the bears. Daniel LOVED it-you can hear him roar right away at the first video.
The reception was at the Quality Inn in Eau Claire. We had a great time. Daniel showed us some dance moves :)

We left there and went to Chetek for the night...then worked until noon on Sunday to take the dock and lifts out for the winter. Then, off to home for chores of our own.

Nate starts his new job tomorrow!!

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Racki

This weekend was Nate's sister Amy's wedding in Madison. We arrived on Friday, went to rehersal, then to P.F. Changs for the rehearsal dinner. The ceremony was beautiful and so were the bride and groom. Here are some shots of the day!

The Quist Siblings Daniel playing under the tables-He LOVED this!
And, Daniel playing spoons.

He tuckered out at 10:30! What a long night for him. Auntie Jen went up with him to sleep, so Nate and I got to stay and dance :) We thought he was going to sleep in, but he woke Grammy and Grandpa up at 5:30 on Sunday.

As you can tell, it was a great weekend! Amy and Anthony are perfect for each other, so it was easy to stand up and represent them. They are now off to HI enjoying the tropical weather and peace.
