Family Updates

Since she's now 6wks old, I thought I should update everyone about her! She is still a perfect baby. She rarely cries, we're sooo very lucky. She, for some reason, can go 5-6 hrs without eating during the day, but only 3 at night! But, she knows nighttime is for sleeping, so she lays back down without any issues. Nate got the first smile out on Saturday. I got my first on Monday. I tried to capture it all day yesterday and today so far, but I only got a very blury and not so flattering picture of our sweet little girl! Here are a couple good ones though :)

Daniel is doing great. He is really getting used to having a sister. One day last week I went to pick him up from day care and he started crying that his sister stayed home with daddy. Then, yesterday, he wanted me to leave her with him at school while I went to work! (Of course, we're not telling him I'm just going home :)) He has big news though. We've started potty training. He loves the idea of being a big boy and wearing underwear. He has some Cars ones and some Diego ones from Grammy Quist. He'll go potty when he sits no problems. We almost went all weekend with no accidents. We'll keep it up until after Thanksgiving. But, it seems to be going well. He needs to get the hang of telling us when he has to go though-instead of us reminding him. But, that will come, I'm sure.
Nate is also doing well. He's finally done having to care for his incision site. He's a happy camper now!

Trip to the Fedie Farm

The first Sunday in Nov, we went to the Fedie Farm to sight in the guns for Deer hunting and make sure the stands were ready to go. We also celebrated Dad and My birthdays. It was a great day. The weather was wonderful. We also had to separate 3 cows from the herd. We like to do work when we come home!
Dad FINALLY got to give Daniel a ride in his new tractor that has a seat just for him! He really liked it. John and Amy had to give him a ride too.
Isn't Will a cutie?

Visit from friends

The first Saturday in November Jen's friends Greta and Sara came over to hang out. Having 3 2yr olds together was very fun. It was very loud, but very fun!
Here's Maddy with Braeden and Andrea.
The big kids
(Maddy, Chase, Daniel, Carter)
The boys building stuff.
Here's a video of Chase and Daniel getting excited about the train set! It was pretty funny watching them play with it.

Here's us watching patiently while the 3 boys put their shoes on themselves :)

Fall Yard Work

On Sunday Nov 1, Daniel was "helping" Nate rake some leaves....

I don't think Daniel wants Nate to finish any time soon...

Finally they get all the leaves on the tarp and Daniel helps Nate drag them to the back yard.

On Halloween day, we went down to a neighbor's house for a big costume party. They had some treats, apple cider, and the kids got to take a few swings at a pinata. We were able to get most of the kids together at the same time for a group picture.

After the party, it was time for trick or treating. Daniel and Nate went out together, while Jen and Andrea passed out candy for the other kids. It was pretty cold out, so Daniel had to wear his jacket on top of his costume, but he was more interested in getting candy than anything. Below is a picture of his haul.

Our little Spiderman

Pumkin Carving

After we got the pumpkins home from the patch, we all started carving. Dad went the traditional route of cutting a hole in the top, pulling all the guts out, and made a super cool design.

Daniel, on the other hand, wasn't a big fan of getting his hands all gooey, so he decided to paint his pumpkin instead.

After we completed our pumpkins, we brought them outside and lit them up for the official test. Nate's is the one on the left, and Mom's is the one on the right. Daniel didn't really show up in the picture.

The Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday, Oct 24, the family drove a few miles north to a small farm that had a bunch of animals for the kids to pet, wagon rides, and a big pumpkin patch. This is the pumpkin that Daniel wanted.

Daniel isn't so sure about the stranger taking our picture.... smile buddy!!!

They had a maze that they created out of large round hay bales... Daniel was trying to figure out if it would be easier to just climb on top of them so he could see where he was going.
Jen and Daniel went for a little wagon ride. He had a blast.
