John and Amy's Pool

Yesterday we spent the day at John and Amy's house playing in the pool. Daniel and Will played great together and loved hanging out beside the pool watching their goofy parents splashing all over.

John showing off his aerial acrobatics
Nate had fun diving for sunken treasures which the kids kept 'sinking' for him

This was one of Wills first times jumping off the diving board. He saw Daniel do it just moments earlier which gave him a little extra courage.

Nate and John played a game of "PIG" in the pool with the basketball hoop that hooked on the diving board. John came out victorious, but this was one of the trick shots Nate came up with that John wasn't able to repeat.

And this was the shot that sealed the deal for John

The Beach

Last Sunday, we walked down to the beach in the middle of our development and played around in the water. Andie wasn't much for the cold lake water today, so she decided to stay on shore and hang out on the towels.
Daniel and Nate spent quite a bit of time out in the water. Daniel thought it was pretty funny to splash Nate, so Nate splashed right back.

Daniel also loved running from the beach into the water and falling down. I think he got the idea from some other kids just down the beach from us.

Dairy Breakfast

Last weekend, which was Father's day weekend, Nate played in the annual Tater Daze softball tournament in Brooklyn Park. Jen took the kids to Mondovi for a Dairy Breakfast at which her Dad was making pancakes. The kids had a great looking at and petting various animals. Here is a picture of the kids in front of a little horse.

After the breakfast event was over, Daniel helped grandma F feed the chickens back at their farm. He loves helping with the chores. After the chickens, it was time to check out the steers. Daniel wanted to get a good view of them eating their corn, so he climbed up the fence
Sure looks like a good spot to see all the corn-eating action.

Twins

Earlier this month, Nate was invited to an IBM sponsored event at Target field where they held a meeting in of of the boardrooms on the suite level, followed by dinner and a ticket to the Twins game. He poked his head into one of the luxury box suites during a break and took a few snapshots of the Twins taking batting practice.

After the meeting, we went to our seats. We were on the third base line, way down in the left field corner, just a couple of rows up. Here's a shot of how close we were to Delmon Young all night.

The Bratek Wedding

Saturday the 5th, we attended Stephanie Bratek's wedding. The ceremony was held in a beautiful Methodist church in Minneapolis, with the reception following at Bracket's Crossing in Lakeville. The wedding was great, and the reception was a lot of fun. Daniel and Lydia were the main attraction (well, other than the bride and groom of course).

Andie was also a big hit with everyone, flashing her beautiful smile to anyone and everyone that said hello to her.

Daniel and Lydia sat next to each other during dinner, enjoying an exquisite dish of chicken fingers and waffle fries.
Here's a video of Daniel showing off some of his moves on the dance floor. We couldn't keep him off of it.

Lastly, this is an adorable video of Daniel and Lydia dancing together. It's a bit long, but it's one that we'll play at their wedding some day... the lyrics of the song are perfect

Water fun at the lake

They finally started developing some of the fun common area amenities at the little lake in our development. Most recently, the built a nice big pavilion for picnics or parties, and a few buildings with changing rooms and bathrooms. They've added a park right near the beach, and added a "sprinkler park" thing that has all these little water sprinklers shooting out of the ground for kids to run through. We went for a walk over by the common area one night to take a look at everything, not necessarily planning on getting all wet, but Daniel couldn't' resist the temptation of the water, so he went swimming in the lake and went running through the sprinklers with his shorts.

Jen took Daniel to "Kids Cuts" for his haircut on Friday, and they asked if he wanted some cool fun color after he was all done. Daniel picked the green color. Jen forgot that she and Daniel needed to run some errands at Target after the haircut and was a little embarrassed to be the mom of the kid with the green hair getting all the attention. The other little kids at Target sure thought it was cool though.

Memorial Day 2010

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the Fedie's Cabin in WI with Grandma and Grandpa F, and Tim. Daniel had a great time and was such a great boy all weekend. He and Nate went out fishing together one night for an hour or so, and it was great to have that one on one time with him with no distractions and to have him be in such a great mood.
Daniel found a bobber floating in the lake, and we were able to scoop it up for him

Andrea loved being on the water and watching all the boats

We saw lots of people tubing and water skiing, so we asked Daniel if he wanted to try tubing behind the pontoon, and he responded with an enthusiastic YES! Jen hopped on with him and went for his first tube ride.

Here's a video of them tubing. Careful, don't go too fast :)
