Nate went to Canada

Nate went to Ontario this year with his father-in-law and a couple of other in-law guys for a week of fishing.  He didn't have the best luck with the walleyes this time, but he did catch an incidental 40" muskie while smallmouth bass fishing.  He had a small 12 inch northern grab a crank bait and this muskie grabbed the northern as he was reeling it in.  The muskie never let go.

Sorry!

What an eventful summer so far! We've been soo busy. And, now since we have cameras on our phones, I can't keep track of where our pictures are.

Nate and I celebrated our 6yr anniversary last month. What an amazing, blessed life we've had together so far! Can't wait for more fun stuff to come. We had a sitter come over and we went to dinner. We finished the night with smores :)

We've been on the boat a couple of times. Not as much as we would like, but having to stay out of the water for 3 weeks because of Andie's cast, kept us off the boat! We all know it's been super hot...we knew if we were on the boat, we might as well jump in. But, now that the cast is off and her arm is doing great, we're trying to get in plenty of boat/water/fishing time. We even managed to get Nate's parents on it with us!

The kids have been to the Como Zoo with Grammy Q, the Anoka County Fair with Jen, had some fun themed days at school (Magician and bugs), and been to a couple of Nate's softball games. Our neighbor Josh plays on the same team as Nate. His kids (Grace and Eva) are best friends with Daniel and Andie. So, here are a couple of pics of them playing last night.

Andie and Eva (Eva turned 2 in Jan)
Daniel and Grace (She will be 4 next week!) Daniel is hunched over, but she's a very tall girl!! :)
We've even been to a couple of Twins games. Andie and Daniel both got their first experience at Target Field. Jen took Daniel with her friend Sara and her boy Chase on a Monday afternoon. Then the following Thurs evening, we all went as a family.

More will be coming...but these are the pictures on my phone...need to get the ones off the camera now :)

First Broken Bone

We have our first broken bone.

Who is it?

Andie!

She fell off a dining room chair when we were in Chetek. We took her to the clinic right in Chetek. They took Xrays and they all came back negative. We let her run wild all weekend, but things just didn't seem right. So, Jen took her to Gillette's this morning (with the help of her sister-in-law Amy). The Xrays showed a tiny hairline fracture in her upper elbow. Andie got to pick the cast color (pink or purple). She grabbed the purple right away. She's not a big fan of the cast yet, but I am sure she will discover the advantages of it soon! At least we don't have to worry about pain-which she wasn't in a lot to begin with-only when bending or straightening the arm. We keep this on for about 3 1/2 weeks, then we're all done :)

Here she is:

More Tball

TBall is in full swing and we've taken a lot of pictures. Here's Daniel at the pitcher's mound.

Big Boy Daniel

The chain on Daniel's bike fell off yesterday. Since Nate was gone, Daniel called on our neighbor Tom to help him fix it. Tom did a great job, but had to take the training wheels off to fix the bike. Much to Jen's dismay, Daniel insisted he was big enough to ride without them. He did an amazing job! Here are a couple of videos of the night tonight. Enjoy watching the little guy be soo proud of his accomplishment :) (and Nate getting a pretty good workout) We sure are proud too!

Spring Fun

We've been busy this spring...here are some pics for you to enjoy.

Nate was our storm supervisor. This was a wall cloud from a storm that produced some tornadoes close to us.

Daniel and Andie having some painting fun (notice the paint on themselves too :) )

WE LOVE bubbles!

Mutated Tulip

One of Jen's favorite things are tulips. For this reason, we have about 20 tulip bulbs planted. We have either deer or bunnies eating them because every year we're disappointed at the number we actually see. This year we have been watching our sole surving tulip plant...and look at it! It has over 60 little tulip flowers blossomed already with a bunch more to flower yet.

This is a picture looking from top down This is a pic from the side. (Sorry about the blur, the camera focused on the woodchips in the background). At the bottom of the tulip are a lot more green mini-tulips yet to turn purple.

Just wanted to share a little bit of fun with you all!
