Twin's Home Opener

We all dressed up for the big night. Even though they lost, it was still exciting to watch the first game of the season. Here are the boys in their gear.
Go TWINS!

Daniel's Birthday Party

Daniel had a great birthday party. He's very lucky to have as many people that love him as he does. Daniel loves Go Deigo Go (the boy version of Dora the Explorer) so we had that as his theme. He got a ton of great presents. We didn't get pictures of all of them. He got a Diego Rescue Pack, some cool boots, a hat, bat and balls, basketball hoop, neat kid's CDs and fun jammies-along with the fishing pole and tackle box daddy got him!
Here are the Diego and Baby Jaquar cupcakes that I made for dessert. We put 2 candles in Daniel's Diego cupcake!
Here are the two little charmers - Will and Brooklyn.
The whole gang that celebrated! Thank you all for coming.

Happy Birthday Daniel!

Can you believe it went this fast? I can't believe our little boy is the big 2 today. He's been saying 'Happy Birthday' for the last couple of days, it's really cute. It's usually Happy Birthday to mommy or daddy or monkey, but it's still cute :)
On Monday night, he decided he wanted to sleep in his new room with his 'big' boy bed! He grabbed his blankets and monkey off his other bed and brought them into his new room. I was shocked! So, we pushed his bed against the wall and put the mattress on it (it only had a boxspring). Then he wanted all the books in his new room. So, we've been 2 nights in there! The first night he woke up at 5am and wouldn't go back to sleep, but last night was good. I never thought the transition would go this easy!
Have a great day Daniel! We love you!

Our Weekend

Last Sunday, Daniel and Jen went to Tim and Liz's to help with some demolishion/rebuilding. (Nate worked an overnight Sat/Sun, so we got out of the house so he could sleep.) Daniel didn't want to try any ice cream until Uncle Timmy sat down with his-then he ate almost the whole cup full!
This weekend we had a weekend full of friends and family! On Saturday, we went to the Bergner's for brunch (which was GREAT!) and Daniel played with Lydia. They're a little over a month apart in age and played very well together. Mr. Bergner had built a slide that the kids played with the entire time we were there! What a great idea Brad.
Daniel being creative with Auntie Katie ready to catch him.
Our very strong boy showing his muscles...
I couldn't decide which picture I liked better, so I'm putting both of the next ones on.

Their first kiss caught on camera :)

After the Bergner's, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Quists for a quick snooze and some yummy pizza for a snack. Then, off to Chris and Shelly's for dinner. Shelly was Jen's college roommate and they have a son Jonathon that was born just days after Daniel. So, we wanted to get them together to watch them play too. Our camera batteries were close to dead, but we did get one short, but precious, video of our little monkeys:

We sure miss you guys and are glad to have gotten the chance to catch up. On Sunday, Nate went to help Tim sheetrock and Jen and Daniel got the house ready for the big birthday party coming on Saturday.

This next video is audio only. Jen took it while Nate was putting Daniel to bed. This is his knock-knock joke. The first part is Daniel laughing, but then he gets into his joke. It sounds like this: "Knock, knock. Who's there? It's me." All said by Daniel with no breaks in between. Enjoy :)

Big News...

Daniel is VERY excited to say that he's going to be a BIG BROTHER in late October!!! The official due date is the 21st, but we're pushing for the 28th to hit mommy and Grandpa Fedie's bday. So far things have been going pretty well. We had our first Dr appt and ultrasound on Fri. The baby looks the right size (like a peanut) and had a strong heartbeat of 167. Jen already feels like she's showing. She's had a couple of rough days, but mostly is ok. She's not exhausted like she was with Daniel, but she's not sleeping very well. Stay tuned for more updates!!!
(and nope, we're not finding out the gender of this one either)
Everyone's been asking about the scratch on his head, so I thought I would explain that... He was playing outside at Grandma and Grandpa Fedie's and was running a little too fast on the gravel. He had a mouth full of it too. It is healing nicely.

Nate the HandyMan

We all know Nate is a handy man, but Friday he fixed the thing that has been bugging us since the day we moved in. The dining room light has been off centered. With the new table we got, it was about 19inches off!! So, he crawled up in the attic and put the light where it should be. It looks sooo good. Here are some pictures of him working hard :)

Where it was...where it should have been!!!

Goodbye to a great person

Early this morning, we lost Jen's Aunt Petra (Her mom's Brother Ray's wife). She was battling pancreatic cancer for a little over 6 months. This weekend, things took a turn for the worse and she wasn't able to recover. Her son Jeremy was by her side holding her hand as she was welcomed into Heaven.
We all got to visit with her these last two days in the hospital and could tell that she was in a lot of pain. While we may not quite understand God's reason, we trust his decision.
Petra-You will be missed. Your spirit was unwavering. You were always in a great mood and able to lift anyone's spirits. For years to come, I will think of you every time I set up my village at Christmas. Be sure to say hi to Jim for us.
